Emporia Area Home Sales Fell in March
Total home sales in the Emporia area fell last month to 29
units, compared to 47 units in March 2016. Total sales volume was $3.4 million, down from a year earlier.
The median sale price in March was $105,000, up from $82,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in March were typically on the market for 17 days and sold for 94.9% of their list prices.
The total number of active listings in the Emporia area at the end of March was 130 units, up from 112 at the same point in 2016. This represents a 4.5 months’ supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of March was $116,950.
During March, a total of 47 contracts were written down from
57 in March 2016. At the end of the month, there were 71
contracts pending, compared to 75 at the end of March 2016.
