Nestled in the rolling hills of Northeast Kansas, Holton is a classic midwestern community located about 30 miles north of Topeka. With turn-of-the-century homes, stately old trees, and brick streets Holton welcomes you home!

 Holton Public schools offer students an opportunity to develop global perspectives with small town values.Districts consist of Colorado Elementary School for grades K-2, Central Elementary School for PreK students and grades 3-5, Holton Middle School for grades 6-8, and Holton High School.

Like many communities in Kansas, Holton was settled by Abolitionist movement determined to take Free State settlers to Kansas and in 1859, the abolitionist John Brown took a group of escaped slaves through Holton, leading to an incident known as the “Battle of the Spurs” More Holton history can be found at the Holton History link below.
