Welcome to Emporia small banner web

It’s a Great Day in Emporia!

Emporia is a center for diverse manufacturing, trade, education, medicine, and tourism. Primary industries include food products, automotive components, fabricators, electronics, telecommunications, and distribution. We are home to Emporia State University and Flint Hills Technical College.

The Emporia Public School system has a strong academic focus that offers accelerated and advanced-placement classes as well as assistance for students at-risk of failing. Test scores on state and national assessments and achievement tests are at or above state and national averages.

Scores on college entrance tests taken by high school students are at or above state and national averages. More than two-thirds of the graduating seniors go on to post-high school training at universities, colleges and technical schools.

Despite a growing business and industry community, Emporia proudly maintains its small-town charm and was named “Best Main Street in the U.S.” by “USA Today 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards.
